Southam Design is an Ottawa based design firm with over 27 years of interior design experience. We have worked on over 500 interior design and architectural projects of various sizes in both the commercial and residential sectors of design and it is our commercial design projects that we would like to direct your attention.

Our goal and vision at SDI when approaching the design of any design space, be it residential architecture and interiors, corporate, clinical, retail and high end retirement homes, is to strive to create a streamlined and inviting, comfortable, modern yet elegant space. We firmly believe with great passion that beautiful space has a profound effect on people’s overall well being.

Commercial Design

At Southam Design we have designed many award winning commercial spaces. We bring our passion for design and our outside of the box design approach to each and every one of our projects. It is our philosophy that well design space lifts the spirits, even if on a subconscious level.

Boutique Retirement Homes

SDI has been involved in the design of 6 Boutique, upscale retirement homes. Amica at Westboro Park is a 6 storey new build and Amica Windsor, an 11 storey new build . The scope of services included, the interior design of all public spaces within the building including, and typical layout/design of private suites.

Residential Design

Penny Southam, ARIDO, IDC, designs the architecture of unique and memorable custom homes up to 6000 sq. ft. While she creates the architecture design, she also works on the interiors ensuring that the architecture and interior design marry perfectly.
